What is it used for?
Used as prescribed to help manage asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with breathing difficulty, wheezing and thick mucus. It helps loosen phlegm and clear mucus from the airways. It is not a rescue medicine for a sudden breathing attack.

How does it work?
Acebrophylline helps relax and widen the airways, while acetylcysteine thins thick mucus so it can be coughed out more easily.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Use the appropriate rescue inhaler or seek urgent medical care for sudden or severe breathing difficulty.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, tremor or a fast heartbeat may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, stomach ulcers, or liver or kidney problems before use. Seek medical advice if palpitations, severe vomiting, rash or worsening breathing occurs. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. Keep this medicine away from children.
