What is it used for?
Used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (nasal allergy), such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.
How does it work?
Levocetirizine reduces the effects of histamine, which causes allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that contribute to swelling and congestion in the airways and nose.
How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water and do not take more than the recommended amount. This medicine is not meant to provide immediate relief during an acute asthma attack.
Common side effects
Sleepiness, tiredness, headache, dry mouth, stomach discomfort, nausea, or diarrhoea may occur.
Precautions
May cause sleepiness; use caution while driving and avoid alcohol until its effects are known. Seek medical advice if there are mood or behaviour changes, unusual dreams, anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts. Inform the doctor about liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or any other medicines being taken.
