What is it used for?
Used to relieve acidity, heartburn and acid reflux, especially when these symptoms are accompanied by nausea or vomiting.
How does it work?
Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Domperidone helps stomach contents move forward and can help relieve nausea and vomiting.
How to take/use it
Take only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the medicine with water and do not change the dose or duration without medical advice.
Common side effects
Headache, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, dry mouth or dizziness.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about liver disease, heart disease, an irregular heartbeat, or a history of electrolyte imbalance. Domperidone may rarely cause serious heart-rhythm problems and can interact with some medicines, including certain antibiotics, antifungals and heart medicines. Seek medical advice for fainting, palpitations, severe or persistent diarrhoea, vomiting blood or black stools. Do not use for prolonged periods unless advised by a doctor.
