What is it used for?
Chloramphenicol is a prescription antibiotic used to treat certain serious bacterial infections, usually when other suitable antibiotics cannot be used. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply.

How to take/use it
