This medicine is used to stimulate appetite in people with poor appetite and may help support weight gain when prescribed by a doctor.
How does it work?
Cyproheptadine can increase appetite by blocking certain histamine and serotonin effects in the body. Tricholine citrate is a source of choline and is included to support nutritional management.
How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not change the dose or duration on your own. Avoid driving or operating machinery until its effect is known.
Common side effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea and stomach discomfort may occur. Increased appetite and weight gain may also occur.
Precautions
Avoid alcohol and be careful with other medicines that cause drowsiness. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there is glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, asthma, liver disease or kidney disease. Use in children only under medical advice.
