What is it used for?
Itraconazole is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections of the skin, nails, mouth, and other parts of the body, as prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It stops fungi from making ergosterol, an essential part of their cell membrane. This prevents the fungi from growing and surviving.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and swallow the capsule whole. Itraconazole capsules are usually taken immediately after a full meal. Do not stop treatment early unless advised by a doctor, even if symptoms improve. Do not take extra doses if one is missed; follow the advice on the prescription or package.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
