What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes.

How does it work?
Dapagliflozin helps the kidneys remove extra glucose through urine. Sitagliptin increases the effect of natural hormones that help the body release insulin after meals and reduce glucose production.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Maintain adequate fluid intake unless a doctor has advised otherwise.

Common side effects
Increased urination, thirst, dehydration, urinary tract infection, genital fungal infection, headache, nausea, or stomach upset. Low blood sugar is more likely when used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney disease, frequent urinary or genital infections, dehydration, pancreatic disease, or use of insulin or other diabetes medicines. Seek urgent medical help for severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, confusion, or unusual weakness. Discuss use during pregnancy or breastfeeding with a doctor. Monitor blood sugar as advised.
