Composition:
Gliclazide 80 mg per tablet.
Uses:
Used to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise, and lifestyle measures alone are not sufficient. It helps the pancreas release insulin to lower blood glucose levels.
How to Use:
Take only as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet with or immediately before a meal, according to your prescribed schedule. Swallow it with water and do not skip meals while taking gliclazide. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
Precautions & Warnings:
Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, or a history of low blood sugar. Gliclazide can cause hypoglycaemia, especially if meals are skipped, alcohol is consumed, or the prescribed dose is exceeded. Symptoms may include sweating, shaking, hunger, dizziness, weakness, blurred vision, or confusion. Monitor blood sugar as advised.
Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects may include low blood sugar, nausea, indigestion, stomach discomfort, headache, and weight gain. Rarely, blood disorders or liver problems may occur. Seek immediate medical attention for severe or persistent low blood sugar, loss of consciousness, severe skin reactions, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Gliclazide is generally not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Your doctor may recommend an alternative diabetes treatment.
Storage:
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
Important Safety Information:
Take gliclazide exactly as prescribed and follow your recommended diet and exercise plan. Do not skip meals. Keep a quick source of sugar available in case symptoms of low blood sugar occur. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Regular monitoring of blood glucose may be required.
