What is it used for?
This combination is used under medical supervision to medically end an early pregnancy inside the uterus. It is not suitable for an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus).

How does it work?
Mifepristone blocks progesterone, a hormone needed to maintain pregnancy. Misoprostol softens the cervix and causes uterine contractions, leading to expulsion of the pregnancy.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional. The two medicines must be taken in the specific sequence and at the time advised. Do not use this pack without medical assessment and access to follow-up care.

Common side effects
Abdominal cramps, vaginal bleeding, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, fever, chills and weakness may occur.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if an ectopic pregnancy is suspected, if there is an intrauterine device, severe anaemia, a bleeding disorder, use of blood thinners, long-term steroid treatment or allergy to either medicine. Seek urgent medical help for very heavy bleeding, severe or one-sided abdominal pain, fainting, worsening weakness, or fever that persists. Follow-up is important to confirm that the pregnancy has ended completely.
