What is it used for?
Used to relieve a phlegmy (productive) cough and chest congestion, especially when cough is associated with wheezing or tightening of the airways.
How does it work?
Ambroxol and guaifenesin help thin and loosen mucus so it can be coughed out more easily. Terbutaline relaxes the airway muscles and helps improve airflow.
How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed by a doctor or as stated on the label. Measure the syrup with the supplied measuring device and do not exceed the recommended amount. Shake the bottle well before use.
Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, tremor, nervousness, palpitations or a fast heartbeat.
Precautions
Use only with medical advice in people with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, overactive thyroid or a history of seizures. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek medical advice if breathing difficulty, chest pain, severe palpitations or worsening symptoms occur. Do not combine with other cough or cold medicines unless advised.
