What is it used for?
Used mainly to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Fexofenadine blocks histamine, a substance involved in allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that can contribute to nasal and airway inflammation.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed and swallow the tablet with water. Do not take it with fruit juice. If using aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids, take them at a different time as advised by a healthcare professional. Do not use it to treat a sudden asthma attack.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, tiredness, or dizziness may occur. Montelukast may rarely cause sleep problems, mood changes, irritability, or unusual behaviour.

Precautions
Tell a healthcare professional about kidney or liver problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other medicines being used. Stop the medicine and seek medical advice promptly if serious mood or behaviour changes, suicidal thoughts, severe allergic symptoms, or breathing difficulty occur.
