What is it used for?
Fexofenadine 120 mg tablets are used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itching. Fexofenadine may also be used to relieve itching and hives (urticaria).
How does it work?
It is an antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, a substance responsible for many allergy symptoms.
How to take/use it
Take the tablet exactly as directed by a doctor or according to the package instructions. Swallow it with water. Avoid taking it with fruit juice, as this may reduce its effect. If using antacids containing aluminium or magnesium, ask a pharmacist about separating their use from fexofenadine.
Common side effects
Headache, nausea, dizziness, and mild drowsiness may occur.
Precautions
Tell a doctor or pharmacist if there is kidney disease, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or drowsiness occurs. Seek medical advice if symptoms are severe, persistent, or worsening.
