What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy nose or throat, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Fexofenadine blocks histamine, a substance involved in allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, which can also contribute to inflammation and nasal allergy symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed or directed on the label. Swallow the tablet with water. Avoid taking it with fruit juice, and ask a pharmacist about using aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness, tiredness, or sleep disturbance.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about liver or kidney problems and any other medicines being used. Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, unusual dreams, depression, or suicidal thoughts; seek medical help promptly if these occur. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, or a severe rash.
