Fesifol XT (10x1x10) Ferrous Ascorbate 100mg + Folic Acid 1.5mg by Csc

What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron and folic acid deficiency, including nutritional anaemia caused by low levels of these nutrients. It may also be prescribed when the body's need for iron and folate is increased.

How does it work?
Iron helps the body make haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Folic acid supports the formation of healthy red blood cells, while vitamin C helps improve iron absorption.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as directed by the doctor or as stated on the product label. Swallow with water and do not exceed the recommended amount. If stomach upset occurs, taking it with food may help. Keep a gap from antacids, calcium supplements and certain other medicines as advised by a doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation or diarrhoea, and dark-coloured stools. Dark stools are common with iron supplements.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is iron overload, a blood disorder, or anaemia not caused by iron deficiency. Inform the doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines, especially thyroid medicines, antacids, calcium supplements and some antibiotics. Keep out of reach of children, as an iron overdose can be dangerous.
