What is it used for?
Ondansetron oral solution is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting, including those related to cancer treatment, surgery, or other medical conditions.
How does it work?
It blocks serotonin signals that can trigger nausea and vomiting in the brain and digestive system.
How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. Measure the oral solution with the provided measuring device, not a household spoon. Do not take more or use it for longer than directed.
Common side effects
Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, tiredness, dizziness, and flushing may occur.
Precautions
Tell the doctor about any allergy to ondansetron or similar medicines, liver disease, heart rhythm problems, or low potassium or magnesium levels. It may affect heart rhythm, especially with certain medicines or in people with heart conditions. Seek medical help for fainting, a fast or irregular heartbeat, severe allergic symptoms, or symptoms such as agitation, sweating, fever, muscle stiffness, or diarrhoea while taking medicines that affect serotonin.
