What is it used for?
Albendazole is used to treat worm infections, including roundworm, hookworm, pinworm and other intestinal parasite infections.
How does it work?
It damages the worms and prevents them from absorbing nutrients, causing them to die.
How to take/use it
Shake the suspension well before use and measure it with a proper measuring device. Take it only in the dose and for the duration recommended by a doctor or stated on the label.
Common side effects
Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache or dizziness may occur.
Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is liver disease or an allergy to albendazole. Avoid use during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed, especially during the first trimester. Seek medical advice if severe abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, unusual bruising, or a severe skin rash occurs.
