What is it used for?
Dydrogesterone is a progesterone-like medicine used to treat conditions caused by low progesterone, such as irregular or painful periods, endometriosis and some menstrual problems. It may also be prescribed to support pregnancy or as part of hormone replacement treatment, only when directed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It acts similarly to the natural hormone progesterone. This helps regulate the menstrual cycle and supports the lining of the uterus.

How to take/use it
Take it by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, breast tenderness, abdominal discomfort, spotting or changes in menstrual bleeding, and mood changes may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision. Tell the doctor about liver disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, depression, or any history of hormone-sensitive conditions. Seek medical advice for heavy or unusual bleeding, severe abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or signs of an allergic reaction. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, use only if prescribed.
