What is it used for?
Ofloxacin 200 mg is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract, skin and other tissues, when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work for viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It stops bacteria from multiplying by blocking enzymes needed for bacterial DNA replication.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow with water and do not take it at the same time as antacids or mineral supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, iron or zinc; follow the prescribed spacing instructions. Do not share leftover antibiotics.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness and sleep disturbances.

Precautions
Use only on medical advice. Stop taking it and seek medical help for tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, severe mood or nerve-related symptoms, a severe rash, breathing difficulty or persistent watery or bloody diarrhoea. Tell the doctor about kidney problems, seizures, heart rhythm problems, tendon disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and all other medicines being taken. Avoid driving if dizziness or other nervous-system effects occur.
