What is it used for?
Used for certain inflamed fungal skin infections, especially when there may also be a bacterial infection. It should be used only when prescribed, as the steroid component can worsen or mask some skin infections.

How does it work?
Ketoconazole and iodochlorhydroxyquinoline act against fungi, while gentamicin acts against certain bacteria. Clobetasol reduces redness, swelling and itching caused by inflammation.

How to take/use it
For use on the skin only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area exactly as directed by the doctor. Wash hands before and after use, unless the hands are being treated. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas, and do not cover the area with a bandage unless advised.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness or irritation at the application site. Prolonged or inappropriate use may cause skin thinning, stretch marks, or changes in skin colour.

Precautions
Use only on medical advice and only for the prescribed condition. Avoid prolonged use and use on the face, groin, skin folds, broken skin or in children unless specifically advised. Stop and seek medical advice if the infection worsens, spreads, or causes severe irritation. Avoid the eyes and seek medical advice if accidental contact occurs.
