What is it used for?
This combination is used to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, along with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

How does it work?
Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin, while voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates after meals.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, usually with or around meals. Swallow the tablet with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Follow the recommended diet and monitor blood sugar as advised.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, gas, indigestion, headache, dizziness and low blood sugar. Low blood sugar may cause sweating, shaking, hunger, weakness or confusion.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol use, severe infection, dehydration, or if surgery or an iodine-containing contrast scan is planned. The risk of low blood sugar is higher if meals are skipped or alcohol is consumed. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, or unusual sleepiness. Discuss use during pregnancy or breastfeeding with a doctor.
