What is it used for?
Amoxycillin with potassium clavulanate is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Amoxycillin kills bacteria by disrupting their protective cell wall. Potassium clavulanate helps prevent some bacteria from breaking down amoxycillin, making the antibiotic effective against a wider range of bacteria.

How to take/use it

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Do not use it if there has been a serious allergy to penicillin, amoxycillin or similar antibiotics. Inform the doctor about previous antibiotic-related liver problems or jaundice. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, severe rash, or persistent or bloody diarrhoea.
