What is it used for?
Used to treat certain outer-ear infections (otitis externa) caused by bacteria and fungi, especially when the ear is inflamed, itchy or painful. It should be used only when prescribed, as the cause of an ear infection needs to be confirmed.

How does it work?
Gentamicin kills bacteria and clotrimazole treats fungal infection. Beclomethasone reduces swelling and inflammation, while lignocaine helps relieve ear pain and discomfort.

How to take/use it
Use only in the affected ear and exactly as directed by the doctor or on the product label. Do not insert the dropper tip into the ear. Keep the ear dry during treatment, and do not use it in the eyes or swallow it. Do not use leftover drops for a new ear problem.

Common side effects
Temporary burning, stinging, itching or irritation in the ear. Allergic rash or worsening discomfort may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if there is a known allergy to any ingredient. Do not use if the eardrum is perforated or a tube is present unless specifically advised by a doctor, as gentamicin may damage hearing. Avoid prolonged or repeated use because the steroid can worsen or mask infection. Stop and seek medical advice if pain, discharge, hearing changes, dizziness or irritation worsens, or if there is no improvement.
