What is it used for?
Clotrimazole 1% is an antifungal medicine used on the skin to treat fungal infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch and fungal skin rashes.
How does it work?
It stops fungi from making an essential part of their cell membrane, which prevents the infection from growing.
How to take/use it
Use on clean, dry skin as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Apply only to the affected area and wash hands before and after use. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas.
Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness, irritation or rash at the application site.
Precautions
For external use unless specifically directed otherwise. Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any ingredient. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or an allergic reaction occurs. Seek medical advice if the infection worsens or does not improve with treatment.
