What is it used for?
Clotrimazole 1% is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch and fungal skin rashes.
How does it work?
It is an antifungal medicine that damages the fungus and stops it from growing.
How to take/use it
Use on the affected skin only, following the product label or healthcare professional’s instructions. Keep the area clean and dry, and wash hands before and after use. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas.
Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, redness, itching, irritation or rash may occur where it is applied.
Precautions
Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any ingredient in the product. Stop using it and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or an allergic reaction occurs. Seek medical advice if the infection worsens or does not improve with treatment. For external use only unless specifically directed otherwise.
