What is it used for?
This topical medicine is used only when prescribed for certain inflamed skin conditions in which a fungal and/or bacterial infection is present or suspected. It helps reduce inflammation, itching and infection on the affected skin.

How does it work?
Clobetasol reduces skin inflammation and itching. Miconazole acts against fungi, while neomycin acts against some bacteria.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area exactly as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Wash hands before and after use, unless treating the hands. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas. Do not cover the area tightly or use it on large areas unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, irritation, redness, dryness or itching may occur. Prolonged or inappropriate use may cause skin thinning, stretch marks, colour changes or worsening of infection. Neomycin may cause an allergic skin reaction.

Precautions
Use only for the condition and duration advised, as clobetasol is a very potent steroid. Do not use on the face, groin, skin folds, broken skin or in children unless specifically prescribed. Avoid use on untreated viral skin infections such as herpes or chickenpox. Stop and seek medical advice if the rash worsens, spreads, or causes marked irritation or swelling. Avoid self-treatment of undiagnosed rashes.
