Cilvarox (30g) Ciclopirox Olamine USP 1.0% w/w, Benzyl Alcohol IP 1.0% w/w by Csc

What is it used for?
Used on the skin to treat superficial fungal infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch and other fungal skin infections. Some ciclopirox preparations may also be prescribed for seborrhoeic dermatitis, depending on the product.

How does it work?
Ciclopirox is an antifungal medicine that damages essential processes in fungal cells, helping stop their growth. Benzyl alcohol mainly helps protect and preserve the formulation.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Apply to clean, dry affected skin exactly as directed on the product label or by the doctor. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas, and wash hands after application unless the hands are being treated.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness, dryness or irritation at the application site.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to ciclopirox or any ingredient. Avoid applying to the eyes or swallowing it. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or a rash develops, or if the infection does not improve as expected.
