What is it used for?
This syrup is used for temporary relief of dry cough and cold symptoms such as a blocked or runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes.

How does it work?
Dextromethorphan helps reduce the urge to cough. Chlorpheniramine reduces allergy-like symptoms, while phenylephrine helps relieve nasal blockage.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed on the label or by a doctor. Shake the bottle well and measure the syrup with the supplied measuring device, not a household spoon. Do not take more than the recommended amount or combine it with other cough, cold or decongestant medicines unless advised.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea and stomach upset. Some people may experience nervousness, a fast heartbeat or increased blood pressure.

Precautions
Avoid alcohol and driving or operating machinery if sleepy or dizzy. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if there is high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, thyroid disease, prostate or urination problems, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not use with MAO inhibitor medicines or within 14 days of stopping them; check before use with antidepressants or other medicines that cause drowsiness. Seek medical advice if the cough is severe, lasts several days, or is accompanied by breathing difficulty, chest pain or high fever.
