What is it used for?
Cefixime + Ofloxacin is a prescription antibiotic combination used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime damages the bacterial cell wall. Ofloxacin blocks enzymes that bacteria need to grow and multiply.

How to take/use it
Take it only in the dose and for the duration prescribed by the doctor. Follow the prescription carefully and complete the course, even if symptoms improve. Do not share this medicine or use leftover antibiotics. Keep doses of antacids, iron, calcium or zinc supplements separate as advised by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness and indigestion may occur.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to cefixime, other cephalosporin antibiotics, ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Inform the doctor about kidney disease, seizures, heart-rhythm problems, tendon disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop taking it and seek medical advice for tendon pain or swelling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, numbness or tingling, severe rash, breathing difficulty, or unusual heartbeat. Avoid driving if it causes dizziness.
