What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as certain infections of the ear, throat, airways, urinary tract or other areas, when prescribed by a doctor. It does not treat viral infections such as common colds or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime is an antibiotic that stops susceptible bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, helping to kill the bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic included to help support the normal balance of gut bacteria.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor and complete the recommended course, even if symptoms improve. Take with water and do not share leftover antibiotics. Do not use it without medical advice for a suspected viral infection.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain or indigestion, vomiting, and headache may occur. Mild skin rash can also occur.

Precautions
Do not take this medicine if there has been a serious allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporin antibiotics, or severe reactions to penicillin-type antibiotics. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, previous antibiotic-related diarrhoea, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, or severe or persistent watery or bloody diarrhoea.
