Cefinex DS+ (30 ml) Cefixime 100mg by Csc

What is it used for?
Cefixime is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the ears, throat, chest, urinary tract and other areas, when the bacteria are susceptible to it. It does not treat viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria and helps clear the infection.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at evenly spaced times if instructed, and complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve. It may be taken with or without food. Do not share antibiotics or use leftover medicine.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, indigestion and vomiting may occur. Skin rash or itching can also occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporin antibiotics or certain penicillin-type antibiotics, unless specifically advised by a doctor. Tell the doctor about kidney problems or previous antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Seek medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe skin rash, or severe, persistent or bloody diarrhoea. Use only when prescribed, as unnecessary antibiotic use can cause resistance.
