What is it used for?

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed or directed on the label. Calcium carbonate is generally best taken with food. Do not take more than the recommended amount, and do not use other calcium or vitamin D supplements at the same time unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects
Constipation, nausea, stomach discomfort, bloating or gas may occur. Excess calcium may cause increased thirst, frequent urination, weakness or confusion and requires medical attention.

Precautions
Tell a healthcare professional before use if there is kidney disease, a history of kidney stones, or high calcium or vitamin D levels. Regular monitoring may be needed during prolonged use. Check with a healthcare professional before combining it with other calcium or vitamin D products, or medicines such as digoxin, thiazide diuretics, thyroid medicines or certain antibiotics, as dose spacing or monitoring may be required.
