What is it used for?
Ramipril 2.5 mg is mainly used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed to reduce the risk of heart problems and to support treatment of heart failure, when directed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor. It relaxes and widens blood vessels, helping lower blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food, and swallow it with water. Take it at the same time each day. Do not stop treatment or change the dose without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dry, persistent cough; dizziness, especially when starting treatment; headache; tiredness; nausea; and low blood pressure.

Precautions
Do not use during pregnancy; inform a doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Tell the doctor about kidney disease, liver disease, dehydration, low blood pressure, or high potassium levels. Inform the doctor about all medicines, especially potassium supplements, potassium-containing salt substitutes, diuretics, or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
