What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency, including anaemia caused by these deficiencies.

How does it work?
Iron helps the body make haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Folic acid and vitamin B12 support the production of healthy red blood cells.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed by a doctor or according to the product label. Swallow with water and do not exceed the recommended amount. Tea, coffee, milk and calcium-containing products may reduce iron absorption, so avoid taking them at the same time. Ask a pharmacist about the correct timing if taking other medicines.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation or diarrhoea, and dark-coloured stools may occur.

Precautions
Keep out of reach of children, as an iron overdose can be dangerous. Tell a doctor if there is unexplained anaemia, iron overload, stomach or intestinal disease, or a history of allergic reaction to these ingredients. Iron may interact with antacids, calcium supplements, some antibiotics and thyroid medicines; medical advice may be needed about spacing doses. Seek medical advice if side effects are severe or persistent.
