What is it used for?
Iron 100 mg is used to prevent or treat iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anaemia, which can cause tiredness, weakness and pale skin. It should be used when iron supplementation is recommended by a healthcare professional.

How does it work?
It supplies iron needed to make haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen around the body.

How to take/use it
Use exactly as directed on the package or by a healthcare professional. Do not take more than recommended. Iron products may be taken with food if they cause stomach upset, but follow the product instructions because food and some medicines can reduce absorption.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach discomfort, constipation, diarrhoea and dark or black stools.

Precautions
Keep out of reach of children; accidental iron overdose can be dangerous. Do not use without medical advice if there is iron overload or another type of anaemia. Iron can interact with antacids, calcium supplements, some antibiotics and thyroid medicines, so separate doses as advised by a healthcare professional.
