What is it used for?
Used for short-term relief of acidity, heartburn, indigestion and discomfort caused by excess stomach acid. The dimethicone component may also help relieve gas-related bloating and fullness.

How does it work?
Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide neutralise excess stomach acid. Dimethicone helps gas bubbles combine and pass more easily, which can reduce bloating.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed on the product label or by a doctor or pharmacist. Do not exceed the recommended amount. Antacids may affect the absorption of other medicines, so check with a pharmacist about how to space them apart.

Common side effects
Constipation, loose stools or diarrhoea, nausea, stomach cramps or abdominal discomfort. Side effects are usually mild when used as directed.

Precautions
Ask a doctor before use if there is kidney disease, persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain or unexplained weight loss. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist, worsen or frequently recur. Tell a doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines being taken, as antacids can interact with some medicines. Do not use for a prolonged period without medical advice.
