What is it used for?
Brimonidine Tartrate 0.1% eye drops are used to lower raised pressure inside the eye in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This helps reduce the risk of glaucoma-related damage to vision.

How does it work?
It is an alpha-2 agonist that reduces the production of fluid inside the eye and helps fluid drain away, lowering eye pressure.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed by the eye specialist. Wash hands, avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or skin, and close the eye gently after applying the drop. If using other eye drops, leave a suitable gap between them as advised. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Eye redness, itching, irritation, dryness, blurred vision, headache, tiredness, dizziness, and dry mouth may occur. Some people may develop an allergic reaction around the eyes.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about low blood pressure, heart or blood-vessel disease, depression, or other medicines being used, especially medicines for blood pressure, depression, or Parkinson’s disease. It may cause drowsiness or blurred vision; avoid driving until vision is clear. Do not use in children unless specifically prescribed. Seek medical advice if severe eye pain, worsening redness, swelling, breathing difficulty, or sudden vision changes occur.
