What is it used for?
Bilastine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin hives (urticaria).

How does it work?
It blocks the action of histamine, a substance involved in allergic reactions. This helps reduce allergy symptoms and itching.

How to take/use it
Take it by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually with water. It should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food or fruit juice. Do not take more than directed.

Common side effects
Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness and nausea may occur.

Precautions
Some people may feel drowsy or dizzy; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there are kidney problems or other medicines being taken. Seek medical help for signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing.
