What is it used for?
Benidipine is used mainly to lower high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed to help prevent or manage chest pain caused by angina.

How does it work?
It is a calcium-channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels. This helps blood flow more easily and reduces blood pressure and strain on the heart.

How to take/use it
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow it with water and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, flushing, palpitations, ankle or leg swelling, constipation, nausea and tiredness may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision if there is low blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, heart disease or a history of fainting. Rise slowly if dizziness occurs. Tell the doctor about pregnancy, planned pregnancy or breastfeeding, and about all other medicines being taken. Seek urgent medical help for severe dizziness, fainting, breathing difficulty or worsening chest pain.
