What is it used for?
Used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy nose, and watery or itchy eyes. It may also be prescribed as an add-on treatment for asthma related to allergies, but it does not relieve a sudden asthma attack.

How does it work?
Levocetirizine blocks histamine, a substance responsible for many allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that contribute to allergic inflammation and narrowing of the airways.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not take more than the recommended amount. It may cause drowsiness in some people, so avoid driving until its effects are known.

Common side effects
Sleepiness, tiredness, headache, dry mouth, stomach pain, nausea, or diarrhoea.

Precautions
This medicine is not a rescue treatment for a sudden asthma attack. Seek medical advice promptly if new or worsening mood or behaviour changes, nightmares, agitation, anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts occur. Inform the doctor about kidney disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other medicines that cause drowsiness.
