What is it used for?
This combination is used to treat certain bacterial infections when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime damages the bacterial cell wall. Ofloxacin stops bacteria from copying their genetic material, helping to kill the bacteria.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow with water. Do not take antacids or supplements containing iron, calcium, magnesium or zinc at the same time; follow the prescribed time gap. Do not share or reuse leftover antibiotics.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness and skin rash.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about allergies to penicillin, cephalosporins or quinolone antibiotics, kidney disease, seizures, tendon problems, heart rhythm problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop the medicine and seek medical help for breathing difficulty, severe or persistent diarrhoea, tendon pain or swelling, numbness or tingling, severe rash, or unusual palpitations. Use in children and older adults only when specifically prescribed.
