What is it used for?
Used to treat various bacterial infections when prescribed by a healthcare professional. It does not work against viral infections such as common colds or flu.

How does it work?
Amoxycillin kills susceptible bacteria by preventing them from forming their protective cell wall. Potassium clavulanate helps amoxycillin work against bacteria that can otherwise resist it.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed and preferably with food. Swallow with water and complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Do not share leftover antibiotics or use them without medical advice.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, skin rash and thrush may occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to penicillin, amoxycillin or related antibiotics. Inform the prescriber about liver or kidney problems, previous antibiotic-related diarrhoea, pregnancy, and other medicines being used. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, a severe rash, persistent or bloody diarrhoea, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
