Composition:
Metformin 500 mg per tablet.

Uses:
Used to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It may be used alone or with other diabetes medicines, along with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

How to Use:
Take only as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow it whole with water. Take it regularly at the prescribed time and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Precautions & Warnings:
Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, severe infection, heart failure, or a history of lactic acidosis. Kidney function should be checked regularly during treatment. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Inform your doctor before undergoing an X-ray or CT scan involving iodinated contrast, as metformin may need to be temporarily stopped.

Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, bloating, loss of appetite, and a metallic taste. Long-term use may reduce vitamin B12 levels. Rarely, metformin can cause a serious condition called lactic acidosis. Seek immediate medical attention for severe weakness, unusual sleepiness, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, abdominal pain, or feeling unusually cold.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Metformin may be used during pregnancy when prescribed by a doctor. Consult your doctor before using it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Storage:
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Important Safety Information:
Take metformin regularly as prescribed and follow your recommended diet and exercise plan. Metformin alone generally does not cause low blood sugar, but the risk may increase when used with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines.
