Composition:
Metformin 500 mg per tablet.

Uses:
Used to help control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It may be prescribed alone or with other diabetes medicines, along with a suitable diet and regular physical activity.

How to Use:
Take only as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Take it at the same time each day. Do not stop treatment or change the dose without medical advice.

Precautions & Warnings:
Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, severe infection, heart failure, or a history of lactic acidosis. Your kidney function should be checked regularly. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption, as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Tell your doctor before certain X-ray or CT scans using iodinated contrast, as metformin may need to be temporarily stopped.

Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, bloating, loss of appetite, and a metallic taste. Long-term use may reduce vitamin B12 levels. Rarely, metformin can cause a serious condition called lactic acidosis. Seek immediate medical attention for severe weakness, persistent vomiting, unusual sleepiness, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, or feeling very cold.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:
Metformin may be used during pregnancy when prescribed by a doctor. Consult your doctor before using it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Storage:
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Important Safety Information:
Take metformin regularly as prescribed and follow your recommended diet and exercise plan. Metformin alone usually does not cause low blood sugar, but the risk may increase when combined with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines. Do not take more than prescribed.
