What is it used for?
Sertaconazole 2% is a topical antifungal used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, and other superficial fungal infections of the skin.
How does it work?
It damages the fungal cell membrane by interfering with the production of ergosterol, a substance fungi need to survive. This stops fungal growth and helps clear the infection.
How to take/use it
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry affected skin exactly as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Wash hands before and after use, unless the hands are being treated. Use it for the prescribed duration and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes.
Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness, dryness, or irritation at the application site may occur.
Precautions
For external use only. Do not apply to the eyes, mouth, or severely broken skin. Stop using it and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling, rash, or signs of an allergic reaction occur. Consult a doctor if the infection does not improve or worsens.
