Composition

Nimesulide 100 mg.

Uses

Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for short-term relief of acute pain and inflammation, including certain musculoskeletal, joint, dental, or menstrual pain.

It reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins.

How to Use

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably after food. Swallow the tablet with water.

Nimesulide is generally intended for short-term use. Do not take more than the prescribed dose or use it for longer than recommended.

Avoid combining it with other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen, or etoricoxib unless specifically advised by your doctor.

Precautions & Warnings

Tell your doctor if you have:

- Liver disease or abnormal liver-function tests
- Kidney disease
- Stomach ulcers or previous gastrointestinal bleeding
- Heart disease or high blood pressure
- A bleeding disorder
- An allergy or asthma triggered by NSAIDs
- Regular or heavy alcohol consumption

Nimesulide has an important risk of liver injury, including rare serious liver damage. Stop taking it and seek medical advice if you develop loss of appetite, persistent nausea, unusual tiredness, dark urine, yellowing of the skin/eyes, or severe abdominal pain.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include indigestion, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, dizziness, and headache.

Serious side effects can include liver injury, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney problems, severe allergic reactions, and skin reactions. Seek urgent medical attention for vomiting blood, black stools, severe abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Nimesulide should generally not be used during pregnancy, particularly during the later stages, unless specifically prescribed by a doctor. Consult your doctor before use while breastfeeding.

Storage

Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.

Important Safety Information

Use nimesulide only for the duration prescribed and avoid self-medication. Because of its potential for liver toxicity, it is not appropriate for prolonged routine use. Avoid excessive alcohol and other medicines that may affect the liver unless your doctor approves them.
