Alkemcefu 250 Tablets (10S) Cefuroxime 250 Mg By Alkem

What is it used for?
Cefuroxime is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as infections of the throat, ears, sinuses, lungs, urinary tract and skin. It does not work for viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
It kills susceptible bacteria by preventing them from forming the protective cell wall they need to survive.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Do not skip doses or use leftover antibiotics. Swallow with water and follow the instructions on the prescription or product label.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort and headache. Mild skin rash may also occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to cefuroxime, cephalosporin antibiotics or certain penicillin-type antibiotics. Tell the prescriber about kidney problems or previous antibiotic-related diarrhoea. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhoea, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a severe skin rash. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
