What is it used for?
This combination is generally used locally to help treat certain vaginal infections, including infections caused by bacteria and parasites such as Trichomonas.

How does it work?
Povidone iodine releases iodine that kills many types of microorganisms. Ornidazole acts against certain anaerobic bacteria and parasites.

How to take/use it
Use only by the route and method stated on the label or prescribed by the doctor. Do not swallow unless specifically instructed. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.

Common side effects
Local burning, itching, irritation or discomfort may occur. Nausea, stomach upset, dizziness or an unusual taste may occur, depending on absorption and the route of use.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to povidone iodine, iodine or ornidazole. Seek medical advice before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there is thyroid disease, liver disease or a history of neurological problems. Stop use and seek urgent help for severe irritation, rash, swelling or breathing difficulty.
