What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve pain and inflammation, especially in joint and muscle conditions such as arthritis. It may also be prescribed for other short-term painful conditions when considered suitable by a doctor.

How does it work?
Etoricoxib reduces the production of substances that cause pain and inflammation. Paracetamol helps reduce pain and fever through a different action.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food. Do not take more than the prescribed amount, and avoid other medicines containing paracetamol unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach discomfort, nausea, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, swelling of the feet or legs, and increased blood pressure.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is a history of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, stomach ulcer or bleeding, kidney disease, liver disease, or allergy to painkillers or NSAIDs. Avoid taking it with other etoricoxib-containing medicines or NSAIDs unless prescribed. It may not be suitable during pregnancy, especially later pregnancy. Seek urgent medical help for chest pain, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe skin reactions, or black stools.
