Abixim O Tablets (50x10x10's) Cefixime 200 mg, Ofloxacin 200 mg Tab by Abbott

What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat certain bacterial infections. It does not work against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime interferes with the formation of the bacterial cell wall. Ofloxacin blocks bacterial enzymes needed for growth and multiplication.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed and complete the recommended course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not take it with antacids or supplements containing iron, calcium, magnesium or zinc at the same time; follow the prescriber's or product label's instructions about spacing.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, headache, dizziness or vomiting.

Precautions
Do not use if there is a known allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporins, penicillins or ofloxacin/other quinolone antibiotics. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash or breathing difficulty, unusual nerve symptoms, or pain/swelling in a tendon. Use only on medical advice during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in people with kidney problems, heart rhythm problems, seizures or a history of tendon disorders.
